This view is from the first balcony level. It shows years of water damage. The entire building now has a new roof which will stop the water infiltration. The vertical bars seen here support this false ceiling. The metal ceiling has been bent down to install the bars. The proscenium arch is 32 feet wide by 25 feet high. Behind the top of the arch the stage area extends upward another 30 feet for a total of 55 feet from stage floor to the rigging loft gridiron. Wooden stairs, two levels of catwalks and the high latticework gridiron floor were used to rig scenery to be lifted into and lowed from the lofty loft. |
