As close as the brewery comes to automation is the amazing set of copper tubes and ball valves that I cunningly fashioned one Easter weekend a couple years back. Its a bit like operating a giant train set, opening and closing valves all the time but works like an absolute treat !
If you examine things carefully you will note that, should my pump suddenly die, the whole thing can be run off by gravity.
