Here's a close-up of the temperature controller that I use to keep the deep freeze at 4°C.
This is the same type of controller that I use for my fermenting / dispensing fridge. It interrupts the neutral line to the compressor. You can also see the temperature sensor it uses to decide when to apply power or not. I use a cheap alcohol fridge thermometer in the bottom of the fridge to indicate the actual temperature. I presently have it set to vary between 2°C and 6 °C, an average of 4°C.
