Hotkeys

(I wasn't going to write up hotkeys here but it seems there's a few out there who can read a manual only when it's onscreen! [tic].)

A = Ally (with enemy unit or building selected)
B = select previous unit. (back)
E = select all units in view on screen
F = Formation Select unit(s) then press F key.
G = Guard  Select unit(s) then press G key.
H = Home, centre on construction yard.
N = select Next unit.
Q = waypoints (see waypoints)
S = Stop (selected units)
X = scatter (units will move about and fire at nearest target)
Home = centre on currently selected unit
F1-F8 = Message keys - press then type msg, Enter key sends. F1 to msg in tournament, F7 to reply to other than current opponent.
CTRL +ALT+ L Click =  Escort - clickunit to be escorted - while escort(s) selected
Alt + L click  = Force move (eg squish soldiers)
Ctrl + L click  = Force fire  (eg L click on bridge, Allied unit, ground etc. to attack)

Waypoints
Hold Q key when you click on destination for units and you can click multiple points.
(Selected) units will then move to each point in turn.
I think you can set as many points as you want - I tested it up to 42.

For Turreted units only
Since a target is a destination, then if first dest. point is a target, your units will attack but proceed also to point 2, firing at target as they go.  If your units move out of range (of that target) they may fire on another in range. Also, if some of your units are confronted with alternative targets en route, they may fire at those instead, but usually while continuing to point 1.
Once again set as many points as you like, but usually in battle points are set as required.
Advantage here if not obvious to you is that in RA a moving unit is hit less, and when it does take a hit, damage level is reduced (effectively, armor is increased for a moving unit). Also, if you click on another (subsequent) target, waypoints is cancelled. You must reset.
NB turreted includes any unit which can target without turning, so it includes eg rangers.
