Holstenske Regiment Ryttere
Holstenske Regiment Ryttere was one of the 4 Danish heavy cavalry regiments. They are often classified as heavy dragoons. The Rytter Regiments wore a read coat, not unlike the one worn by the infantry. From 1810 they wore steelgrey breeches instead of darkblue breeches. All bands and leather were white, except the cartridge bag which was black. The regimental color were light green, which was the color of cuffs, facings, turnbacks and collar. The edges were in strawyellow. Buttons were white. The chakotworn by the regiment had a brass badge. Cords were yellow/red with two tassels.The heavy all weather over coats were grey.
