Sd.Kfz.252 was a light armored ammunition carrier designed for Sturmartillerie batteries. Some 413 were produced by Demag/Wegmann from June of 1940 and then by Deutsche Werke from January of 1941 until September of 1941. All were issued to Sturmartillerie batteries. In order to increase the load carried by Sd.Kfz.252, Wegmann produced ungepanzerter Munitionsanhänger Sonder Anhänger (Sd Anh) 32/A trailer, which carried additional 36 rounds of 75mm ammunition. Sd.Kfz.252 was eventually replaced by Sd.Kfz.250/6.
