Leichte Wehrmachtsschlepper
Adler leWS
Development of Leichte Wehrmachtsschlepper started in May of 1942, when it was decided
that simplified version of light semi-tracked carrier was to be produced. New vehicle
was to replace all existing ones in the same class. Three prototypes were produced
by Adler and were powered by Maybach HL 42 engine with 100hp and had wide dry pin tracks.
Prototypes had fully armored driver's cab and engine compartment.
Version with flatbed platform was planned to be used not only as cargo carrier
but also as a platform for anti-aircraft guns.
Further development was stopped in 1943 and all effort was concentrated on development
and production of Sd.Kfz.250 series and RSO.
