Mittlere Ladungsträger "Springer" Sd.Kfz.304

Mittlere Ladungsträger

Mittlere Ladungsträger

Springer was an expendable tracked demolition charge vehicle designed as a replacement for Goliath and B IV. It was produced by NSU and shared many components (e.g. drive-train, engine, parts of the running gear) with Kleines Kettenkraftrad Sd.Kfz.2. From October of 1944 to February of 1945, only 50 were produced by NSU. The usage of Springer was done by it being driven by a driver close to the target area, where the driver left the vehicle and drove it to the target using the radio equipment. It was also planned to use the Springer as a base for Kleinpanzer Wanze armed with recoiless 105mm IG gun.
