risk

4 things in risk are of major importance.
1. You can win by finishing your assignment. You lose when others win.
So in order to win you must prevent others from winning first. It's so
simple yt so hard to explain to people who merely think self-interested.

2. General tactics like 'always go for...' don't apply. You can go for the
areas that others do not want. If that's Europe, it can be done. You must
go to the territories the cards(and I especially mean the assignment
cards) lead you to. When you must get NA and Africa for example, you
better go for NA first if there is heavy interest in Africa.

3. Divide and rule. If you are strongest, don't make the mistake to go to
strong! You can control the game by preventing others to get their own
continent. If you are not strong, don't act like one.

4. If you are not strong, you want things to change. (easy, huh) Not the
best way, but possibly the only one to do this is to move away from one
continent totally, thereby leaving it for another poor brother. The
stronger one in the game will prohibit this takeover, (he is
applying rule 3)resulting in massive slaughtering.
