Taking Europe as you first continent.

Okay, first imagine the map of Europe. You have a ring of outer countries
that link onto North America, Asia and Africa. The countries that connect
only with other European countries are the 'Core' countries.
(1) During the placements of troops, place all of your troops in or
around Europe. The best stratergy is place your troops in the Core
countries. Next best is placing your troops in the outer ring countries
and finally, if you feel really lucky, place your troops on just one or
two countries that are connected to Europe.
(2) Your first target is to control the core countries. Inevitably you
will take countrol of some of the outer ring countries. Try to keep your
main force evenly distributed among the Core with a token force in the
ring.
(3) When you have control of the Core, if you do not already own
Iceland, take it. You can infact treat this country as being part of the
core as it gives you a
