AFJROTC HONOR CODE AT WORK

For Tequesta Allen's honesty, she will receive a check for $150 and a Certificate of Recognition from The ENQUIRER.

When Tequesta Allen found a wallet stuffed with over $1,000 in cash, she dreamed of buying a car.

Instead, the straight-arrow high school junior handed the jackpot over to its rightful owner -- and strangers impressed with her honesty showered her with even more money than she found!

"Honesty pays! It pays big time!" crowed the deliriously happy 16-year-old.

Tequesta and her dad were driving down the street in West Palm Beach, Fla., when they spotted the wallet on the pavement.

They stopped, Tequesta opened the wallet -- and her eyes popped! Inside was a wad of $10 and $20 bills, totaling $1,100.

"I thought, 'This is my lucky day. I can buy the car I want!'" recalled Tequesta.

"Then I reconsidered. I realized somebody else probably needed the money more than I needed a car."

The law-abiding teen tracked down the wallet's owner, West Palm Beach police officer Frank DiStefano -- who'd just withdrawn the money from his bank to use as a down payment on a house.

"When he told me that, I knew I'd done the right thing," said Tequesta, an Air Force Junior ROTC member at Lake Worth High School.

"Some of my classmates told me, 'Girl, that's a lot of money! You're crazy to give it away.'

"But I didn't give it away. I gave it to the person it belonged to. That was the right thing to do."

When Tequesta's story appeared in a local newspaper, total strangers showered her with letters of congratulations -- and many included $10 and $20 bills as rewards  for her integrity.

In the end, the upstanding teen got even more cash than she found!

Col. Steve Cotter, director of Tequesta's ROTC program, said:
"Our training emphasizes teaching cadets to be good citizens.

"It's obvious Cadet Allen has learned her lesson well. She's not only a good citizen, her integrity is even stronger!"

F-22 RAPTOR AIR WAR
Submitted by c/TSgt. Dan Harbin TX-861st AFJROTC

If anyone is interested, I have the capabilities to host Novalogic F-22 Raptor multiplayer games over the internet at faster than ISDN speeds (due to the fact that I have a new ADSL line). Anyone with the internet is able to play, and it's FREE (if you have the game F-22 Raptor). I will probably make it a R.A.W. game (deathmatch if everyone demands it). If any of you are interested, email me at dharbin@juno.com or the_jrotc_en@geocities.com.

FAQ v1.1
Editors note: Again, here is the FAQ for new subscribers
--------------------------------------------------------

The JROTC Newsletter FAQ (v 1.1)
==================================

"*" Is beside anything that has been updated or added since the last FAQ came out

If you have a question that you think should be added to the FAQ, email the_jrotc_en@geocities.com

*Q: What is the JROTC Electronic Newsletter?

A: The JROTC Electronic Newsletter is an email newsletter sent to anyone on the mailing list. It contains news, info, links, and other interesting stuff. The best part about it is that anyone can submit a JROTC article.

Q: How do I subscribe?

A: Send email to "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com" with subscribe somewhere in the subject line (for filter purposes), and wait a few weeks until the first issue comes out.

* Q: When will the first issue come out?

A: When I get enough articles. Please, please, please send in articles!

* Q: Who can write an article, and what does it have to be about?

A: Anyone can write an article. Just send it to "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com" with submission anywhere in the heading (again for filtering purposes). It can be about anything, but since it is a JROTC newsletter, make it have something to do with JROTC. I will read all of the articles submitted. The final cut is up to me, but unless the article is really bad, it will most likely make it in. For more info see the web page at "http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/1055/". You can also add a link to your favorite JROTC website. Just send it as if you were sending any other aritcle submission.

Q: How can I be removed from the mailing list?

A: Be removed? Why would anybody want to be removed? If you want to be removed, email "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com".

Q: What if I have any other questions or comments?

A: By now I think you could probably just guess....email "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com".
