ROTC TOO TOUGH?
Submission by Andrew Olson
--------------------------------------------------------------------

Hello,
My name is Andrew Olson. I live in Duluth, MN and I'm currently
fighting agaist a NJROTC program introduced in our public schools in 1995.
Along with many other students, teachers, parents and our principal, we feel
that ROTC students are intimidating and they don't belong in our school for
any reason. Please think seriously about how you affect your classmates
through being in JROTC and think if it is really worth it to waste your time
learning military techniques during school hours that you will really never
use for the rest of your life other thn in the military should you choose to
enlist.Thank you for your time, I 'll keep you posted on my situation.
Sincerely,
												    Andrew Olson

COLOR GUARD MISHAP
Submission by Vivian

Okay, you said you need articles well I have a embarrassing story to share.

It was a very important night and I was commanding a color guard, to post
colors in front of all the educational body (superintendents, principals,
teachers, the whole bit). We'll I was calling commands perfect, everything
was on the right foot it was going smoothly. Now it was time to post! As
I placed the flag in it's hole I looked up, all I heard was laughing. THE
FLAG HAD SOME HOW LANDED ON ME!!!!! I had to stop and pull the flag from
off of my head. I was so humiliated! But we still had to march out. I kept
my military face on and resume calling commands. Thankfully my Instructor
was there to lift my spirits back up.

FAQ v1.1
Editors note: Again, here is the FAQ for new subscribers
--------------------------------------------------------

The JROTC Newsletter FAQ (v 1.1)
==================================

"*" Is beside anything that has been updated or added since the last FAQ came out

If you have a question that you think should be added to the FAQ, email the_jrotc_en@geocities.com

*Q: What is the JROTC Electronic Newsletter?

A: The JROTC Electronic Newsletter is an email newsletter sent to anyone on the mailing list. It contains news, info, links, and other interesting stuff. The best part about it is that anyone can submit a JROTC article.

Q: How do I subscribe?

A: Send email to "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com" with subscribe somewhere in the subject line (for filter purposes), and wait a few weeks until the first issue comes out.

* Q: When will the first issue come out?

A: When I get enough articles. Please, please, please send in articles!

* Q: Who can write an article, and what does it have to be about?

A: Anyone can write an article. Just send it to "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com" with submission anywhere in the heading (again for filtering purposes). It can be about anything, but since it is a JROTC newsletter, make it have something to do with JROTC. I will read all of the articles submitted. The final cut is up to me, but unless the article is really bad, it will most likely make it in. For more info see the web page at "http://www.geocities.com/Pentagon/Quarters/1055/". You can also add a link to your favorite JROTC website. Just send it as if you were sending any other aritcle submission.

Q: How can I be removed from the mailing list?

A: Be removed? Why would anybody want to be removed? If you want to be removed, email "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com".

Q: What if I have any other questions or comments?

A: By now I think you could probably just guess....email "the_jrotc_en@geocities.com".
