E. Whitney Richmond (High Hump) Rifle Muskets
This Whitney type is very rare and the few surviving arms are direct copies of the US Model 1861 in every respect except for the lockplate. He used the US Model 1855 unmilled for the Maynard tape primer system, leaving the high hump similar to the RICHMOND rifle musket, and are marked E WHITNEY over N. HAVEN between the hammer and the bolster. They were left undated.
