FEBRUARY 1, 2001 - - The American Legion will observe February as Americanism Month Commander Bill Richards of Pony Express Post 359 announced today.

Americanism goes beyond patriotic expression. It entails preserving the most cherished traditions of the American way for future generations, which is a fundamental goal of the 3 million men and women of The American Legion who are “Still Serving America”.

Commander Richards extended an invitation to all eligible veterans of Saint Joseph to become Legionnaires.

“Membership in The American Legion gives the veteran the opportunity to be involved in meeting the needs of our community through the Legion’s many and varied programs,” Commander Richards said.
