FEBRUARY 12, 2001 - - Today marks the 192nd birthday of one of America’s greatest leaders – the 16^th President of the United States, Abraham Lincoln.

“Abraham Lincoln still has lessons to teach us today,” said Sons of The American Legion Squadron 359 Commander Jerome L. Goolsby. “Lincoln refused to give up on our national union and its’ ideals. And he embodied many ideals that are still essential to us today – charity to all, malice to none, and national unity.”

Commander Goolsby urged all citizens to remember Lincoln’s wishes for the nation and to follow Lincoln’s call to listen to “the better angels of our nature”.
