Pioneer Valley Unit # 81 is one of the 127 units in WAVES National. WAVES National is a nonprofit, nonsectarian, and nonpartisan organization. Membership is open to all women who have served or are now serving in the Navy, Navy Nurse Corps, Yeoman F, Coast Guard or Marine Corps. The group was charted in California in 1979 and now has almost 6000 members representing all 50 states and some foreign countries.
WAVES National gives service women the chance to share a wonderful camaraderie as they experience the special traditions and history of the armed forces.
WAVES National makes a special effort to keep its members informed of Veterans Affairs, with an emphasis on programs and benefits for women. Members participate in community affairs, and take part in parades, veterans celebrations, and other such activities. In doing so, they make their communites aware of the important contributions women continue to make as members of the armed forces.
This is some of the members of Unit #81 at a recent gathering.
Pioneer Valley Unit #81 is located in western Massachusetts and has it's meetings on the third Saturday of March, May, September and November.
Our meetings are comprised of a Business Meeting, Luncheon and Speaker.

Place: American Legion Post #438
New Ludlow Road, Chicopee, MA
Coffee and pastry will be served at 10:00AM.
Meeting: 10:30 Sharp!
Lunch at noon.
Menu: To be announced at a later date.
Please bring in a small item for the raffle table.
We are continuing to collect soda can tabs to be contributed to the Shriner's Hospital.
Speakers will be from our own group, bring souvenirs of you military days and everyone will be allowed 3 minutes to speak.
