So I've seen the fragility of life
& scars exposed & letting go
Tears are shed & words are said
But nothing will be the same any more
I'll frame this picture & capture the memories
This painting becomes overwhelming but
I'll hang it in my own soul
And admire all the talent within you
I remember those brush strokes you made
As you immortalized that goodness you had
I'll run my fingers over those bright colors
And remember you like a sunset
I'll run my fingers over those dark colors
& shed a tear for the pain, well-concealed
I know you're still out there
& you will live and fly on forever
Because I've found this painting from you
And it hangs on a wall in my dreams
So I can remember those bright memories
And let some light pour into me like warmth
