Night Sky Observation: Lunar Features, Phases, and Position

Choose any of the activities below.

1. Plot the moon’s position for three different days at the same time of the evening. Complete the Moon Observation Log Sheet each time.

2. If you have a telescope, plot the moon’s position relative to a reference star at least three times during a two hour time span on the same evening. Complete Plotting the Position of the Moon using a Telescope.

3. Complete the naked eye section of the SAC 110 Best Lunar Objects List. Use the Observation Sheet for Lunar Features

4. Find at least ten objects from the binocular or telescopic objects sections of the SAC 110 Best Lunar Objects List. Use the Observation Sheet for Lunar Features
