| Pericles Harry Yannakopoulos Athens, May 1960. He's involved in music out of the age of thirteen. As he says "When i first listen to RICHIE BLACKMORE and YANNIS SPATHAS *guitarist for the progressive rock band "SOCRATES DRuNK THE CONIUM", i decided to become a guitarist ". From 1974 to 1978, he plays with several bands and musiciens as STEPHANOS KORKOLIS, JOHN STAVROPOULOS, GEORGE FAKANAS, CARLOS VOUTSINAS. In October of 1978 is leaving to France, where he is studying musicology and marketing. He joins as lead guitarist "LIBERTE", one of the coolest french bands of fusion music at the time. A crisis of homesickness takes him back to Athens, in 1983. In a relatives union, Pericles discovers a cousin from Chicago, JOANNA PAP, a brilliant singer.They form "ENIGMA", performing daily in "BOBBY'S" and "AN CLUB" for two years, facing a great success. During 1985 he joins as quitarist MARISA KOCH, a fabulous ethnic singer, in her international tour. He retires for three years in the sunny island of Rhodes, playing every night at "STICKY FINGERS" rock club. In 1988, sets up his "ATARAXIA" private studio in the countryside of Athens, focusing in experimental fusion composition, hard disc editing and production-making. For seven years, creates an enormous variety of music, songs and "ΗΦΑΙΣΤΙΑΔΑ", an ethnic-rock opera, movie concept. In 1994 he is invited as guitarist in an -one night only special gig- in "BITSOULAS CLUB" and plays with LYN DOBSON, a unique sax player best known for his session work. Pericles, discovered a matching singer and poet for his sound philosophy in Lyn's face and since then, they have a fifteen day contact every year, preparing seven concept albums. Apart from, he composes and produces for a major label, two albums, with CHRISTOS DIAMANTOPOULOS and VANESSA K a young talented rock singer. |
