GETTING STARTED

If you are new to the world of crafts, this page is the place to start.
If you are already into
CRAFTS, you will still find it interesting.

If you intend taking up Crafts as your hobby, it would save you lots of time and
money if you keep a variety of general supplies handy.  You can start by filling a
shoebox and work your way up to a large drawer or maybe even a handy trolley in
your room.  I have all my supplies stacked on a shelving unit and a large drawer-
that is as far as I have got to.  Ideally, a craft room is every crafter’s dream, where
one can store supplies and work peacefully.  It is still my dream but, in the meantime, I have
made up a list for you from my own supplies to help you get started.

Prepare all materials necessary for your
project.

Have everything ready at hand.

Keep all work surfaces clean and tidy. It
is a good idea to have a wipe clean mat
or plastic board to work on.

Be safety conscious.

Follow manufacturer’s instructions
especially for paints, glues, varnishes or
sprays.

When using a craft knife work on a firm
cutting board with a smooth surface,
always cutting away from you. Ask for
help if necessary.

If you use a glue gun be aware that the
melted glue is very hot.

When ready, clean up carefully all
surfaces, jars, brushes, etc. after use.
