Scrap
angels

This is one craft I have really enjoyed - I learned how to make these from my crafty friends Jazbo, Kathy, and Yvonne whose creativity never ceases to amaze me. I should mention that my dear friend Sharlet started this when she asked for ideas to make angels for those who need encouragement - the angels had to be small enough and flat to fit inside a regular sized envelope.
Thanks dear friends for sharing your creativity!

Angels in Production
WARNING: Once you start making these you'll never stop!!!
You only need some scraps of fabric to make these cute little angels, some glue (I use PVA glue diluted with a little water), a sequin for the halo and a button with two holes (eyes) for the angel's head.

Cut two circles of contrasting fabric of diameter 3 1/2 inches (9cm)

Fold each in half, and dab some glue in between the fold to hold in place

Take one of the folded circles and fold each end towards the middle applying some glue to form the sleeves. Peg the glued part together and leave for a few minutes until it holds the 'sleeves' shape.

Glue the other folded circle to the back of the 'sleeve' shape.

Glue a sequin for the halo and a button on top for the face - make sure you centre them in a way that the angel's (button) 'eyes' are in a horizontal line with the shoulders/wings.
You can make several of these angels to include with your greeting cards or to decorate your Christmas gifts - give them to your family and friends with a thinking of you message or a get-well wish. They will also look lovely on your Christmas tree.

Bottom: My Sally Stardust Angel
Here are two more scrap angels I made using larger circles.
For the head I covered a bottle cap with fabric,
added some hair (woodwool from craft shops or you can save the packaging from Easter baskets)
and a halo from scraps I had in my craft box.
Use your imagination to decorate your angel!

We get in such a rush
To fill our lives with things
We seldom take the time
To feel the touch
Of Angel Wings
