HOW TO RECYCLE AN OLD STAINLESS STEEL TEAPOT

The instructions and pictures were sent in by my sister Susan.

The project was done by her artist daughter Sara who is a graduate from the Istituto Statale D'Arte in Asti, Italy.

Besides participating in various projects such as the restoration of books and paintings, she has also worked in the field of restoration of frescoes and paintings. Sara loves clay modeling and painting and also does restorations  on paintings and small scale statues.  She has also taken part in several exhibitions and studies in and around the Piedmont region.

Thanks Sue and Sara for sharing your creativity!

For the base, use a cream coloured acrylic varnish all over the surface.
When dry, paint flowers or fruit and butterflies with poster colours.  (Sara got inspiration from some pictures of fruit, flowers and butterflies taken from magazines - she painted these free hand  but for one who is not good at painting, decoupage works very well too- see Notes on Start Decoupage).

When the paintings are dry, brush over with gouache gloss varnish  (take care to brush over only the paintings not the base) to render the paintings glossy and waterproof.

Use rubber gloves to protect hands from the gouache gloss varnish.

This is to be used as an ornament i.e. for decorative purposes only.

WELL DONE SARA BRAVA!
