Welcome friends to my Thought of the Month page - yes I know it's the end of the month but (and this is not an excuse) I have been BUSY, BUSY, BUSY!!! So as the saying goes it's "Better late than never!"
I thought this would be a good month to have some thoughts about "Getting things done!" Yeah, even in this hot and humid weather. We're more than half way through the year...do you ever think about the resolution/s you made on New Year's Day? Now is as good a time as ever to get those projects/ideas into motion - it might take a New Year's day to get me to make a resolution but any time besides the new year is surely a good time to get it fulfilled!
I'm always packing stuff away like boxes, scraps of fabric, greeting cards, ribbons, glass jars and what not! I just know that some day, yes, some day I'll get around to making a masterpiece out of nothing. Honestly, I have done some great projects in the past and was ever so grateful for not getting rid of some of the items I had stored but, shhh, (whisper) I still have some rather promising items that I've had for years still in storage. (Louder) Well, one day, one day I'll get around to it!
It's not that I don't have ideas - oh gosh! no, my head is full of great ideas, it's just the time - don't have enough of that. I was reading the other day an article about Time Management and how important it is to know your priorities - what's that? ;~) Just joking! No, don't worry I don't intend to lecture you about Time Management, I don't have the TIME for it!
If you really, really want to do something that you have been meaning to do for such a long, long time, just give yourself a deadline (a reasonable one) but keep it...
Then there are those projects that you just have to do, say within the next month or two, homemade gifts for Christmas, writing out your greeting cards, remembering a special friend...start on one item today.
You might need to get started on de-cluttering, start on a drawer and work your way through the whole room, one corner at a time till you have the whole house done. You might say, "It's easier said than done"! But whatever little I get done is an achievement for me and that is an incentive in itself to do more...
Print out ONE project a week in BIG BOLD letters on a paper and stick it on the fridge - once you find you are getting through your project, keep up the pace, don't overdo it and soon you'll find that you can do so much in such a little time.
I have to go now to print out my list of THINGS TO DO, one project per week. I think I have enough to see me through till the New Year (you're right to ask which one, hehehe!) Oh, by the way, if you are loaded with housework, I have a solution for you...just press here The Best Way to Do Housework
But c'mon, we can do it, we'll get there with Our Lord's help!
HUGS TO YOU ALL
