Let each and every one of us be thankful for the Lord's Blessings,
however great or small and realize how through them He has touched our lives.
You Touch My Life
Lord, thank you for my eyes
That daily see the morning sun,
That today have seen that little bird in my balcony
Come to eat the crumbs I’d left for it.
Thank you for helping me notice
The rainbow bubbles blowing up out of my kitchen sink
As they floated up to my face.
Thank you for my family’s smiles
And thankful expressions when
I laid their favourite dish on our supper table.
I’m forever grateful for the sounds reaching my ears daily,
Though it be the traffic hum
Or the children’s piercing voices
Or the church bells continuously tolling,
High and low, loud and clear,
Gentle or deafening,
Thank you, Lord, though I complain, I’ve heard them all.
For the taste of luscious summer fruits and
My favourite piece of chocolate, thank you.
For the salty taste of seawater in our favourite bays
Which subtly brings back memories of my childhood days.
Thank you for my taste buds, which show me
The sweetness or bitterness in our daily lives;
Thank you for the salty sweetness on my lips
As I kiss away my children’s tears
When their ball’s gone over the wall,
Or as I soothe them after a fall.
Thank you for the aroma of fresh herbs and spices
That wafts upon the air and fills our home
As my husband cooks a special Sunday lunch for us.
Thank you for the scent of the early morning dew,
And the early blooms in spring,
The freshness of the first rain
And the fragrance of fresh fruit in season,
In contrast or similarity, all distinct and unique.
Lord, thank you for You touch my life
Through all my senses
As each time they bring me back to You
When I see You in all your glory,
Hear You in Your every word,
Experience the garden of Your glorious promises,
As You touch my life,
And make it complete.
Lord, use my senses to bring others to You!
