Cliffhanger News
February 2002:
After the band split in 1997, they reformed again and made another album, called
Circle. This album consists of tracks that are shorter
and "easier" as the band itself put it. After this album the band split again, this time
for good as it seems.
November 1997:
There is good news and bad. The good news is that there is a third cd
to be released by Musea. Probably the title will be Mirror Site.
I have heard some of the new songs once and they are quite good.
There is also bad news. The sales figures of the band's second cd
are quite bad: only some 800 copies were sold. Due to this development and the
fact that the audience at their concerts was quite limited, the band wanted to
change their direction. They decided to focus on shorter, less complicated
songs, but keyboard player Dick Heijboer was against this. So he has chosen to
leave the band after the next cd.
He is to be replaced by Ronald ?, a keyboard player from Veenendaal who has
performed in a Pink Floyd cover band. According to the band, they are determined
to keep on going.
4 November 1996:
There is a review available on Cliffhanger's latest cd.
17 September 1996:
Cliffhanger's second cd was released yesterday. Their first cd sold 1600
copies. May this one do even better.
11 June 1996:
Cliffhanger will be recording for their second cd during july. The title of the
new cd will be "Not to be or not to be".
12 January 1996:
Cliffhanger have released a live cassette called Burning Alive, containing five tracks. These
include a 22 minute epic called Ragnarök.
