Dilemma Biography

History

The original idea going back to 1991, Dilemma became fully operational as a band at the end of 1993 when the line-up was completed. Although relatively new to the scene, inexperienced they were not. Drummer Essen for example guests on two albums by renowned Britsh band Iona, Book Of Kells and Beyond These Shores, demonstrating his skills on his second instrument, the violin. While on a European theatre tour, Essen met singer/actor Butler and invited him to join Dilemma, completing the present line-up.

Since Toll moved to Belgium and Essen was too busy with his session work and other projects, Dilemma decided to look for replacements. They found a new guitarist and a new drummer. The concert the band gave in Uden on 16 December 1995 was the first live appearance for these two new members. They did very well though.

In june 1996, Case has left the band due to too much other work.

In august 1996, Robin Z also left the band. This caused the record company to end the contract with the band, and the band to fall apart. A sad end for a band with an unusual amount of potential.
Their last recording called "Comfort Zone Arena" is to be found on the Io Pages Sampler.

However, there is still some hope. Case told me that the group were planning to get together again and that they invited him to join too...

In 1999 the band reformed again and have already played some gigs. Let us all hope that there is a new record on its way...

Recordings

In 1993, Dilemma recorded a cassette called Trapped.
In 1995, SI Music released Dilemma's first CD called Imbroccata.
In 1996 Dilemma contributed with the song Comfort Zone Arena to the Io Pages sampler.
