| Above is a photo of my sister's cat, Boots. I'm not sure what year my sister got the cat, but I think she was a teenager at that time. The cat was born at a local campground and the owners were giving the kittens away, so my sister got this cat. He was a Maine Coon Cat, and was quite the hunter.
Over the years, he'd come home with rabbits, as well as any other small game that he was able to catch such as partridge and pheasants. The photo to the right is of a rabbit that he'd brought home that was still alive. We placed it in the cat carrier and brought it into the woods in the back yard to let it go, while the cat was kept in the house. In the house, he liked to play fetch with the foil type stuff that our parents would take out of their packages of cigarettes. You'd almost think that the cat was actually a dog. Once my sister got older and moved out, we kept the cat at my parent's place. At some point my sister visited with her boxer, which chased the cat out into the woods behind the house. We have not seen the cat since. |
