I got Tyson while I was working at the call center. One of the other staff member's cat had kittens and she knew I was looking for one. So she got me Tyson. Now you may be wondering about the name... When I first got him, he liked to bite ears, like Mike Tyson. Hence the name.
I got him while renting a house in another part of the county, and kept him and Sam both as inside cats. Sam didn't like this, but got used to it after a while. At the house that I was renting, the two cats eventually got used to each other. I even brought my mother's dog to the house once to see how Tyson would react. I kept him in the cat carrier as the dog came into the house. Tyson basically ran from one end of the cat carrier to the other, crashing into the end before turning around and doing the same thing on the other end. Eventually the animals got used to each other and the dog sort of protected the cats from larger dogs (such as my sister's boxer).

A Cat Tale Nova Scotians have long been fond and proud of their feline friends, especially those owning polydactyl cats, also known as United Empire Loyalist cats. A polydactyl cat has six or more toes on their front paws and five or more on their back. Yarmouth and Halifax are 2 of the 3 or 4 places in North America with a high percentage of these double pawed cats. Many polydactyl cats in Nova Scotia are calicoes with cream, black and reddish brown fur. Genticists believe these felines were considered "special" by early New England colonists who brought them to Nova Scotia after the American Revolution. |
