This is the horde. It's a school of six silver dollars and their cousins, red hooks. Same basic fish, just the red hooks have a red band on their fin. They're related to piranahs, but not agressive at all. Just really flighty. This was the best picture I could get of them cuz they kept moving. |
And I thought it was hard to get a picture of the horde! This is one half of our catfish duo, Mary Kate and Ashley... I'm pretty sure this one is Ashley. These two don't stop moving at all. Even as I was taking this picture, she was wiggling all over the place |

If getting a picture of the horde was hard, and getting a picture of Ashley was harder, getting a chance to get a picture of one of our loaches was nearly impossible. In fact, I couldn't. I didn't take this picture, Daemon did, and it was by pure chance that he caught Fez out feeding. The loaches, there are three somewhere in our tank, tunnel beneath the strata on the bottom... and don't come out unless they need to eat. |
This is supposed to be a picture of the pleco plastered to the side of the tank. Splat is a great fish and a lot of fun to watch. But as I'm preparing to take this picture, from behind looms our green sevrum. She's such a ham, she just had to get in on Splat's picture. |

This is the ham, the green sevrum, Iris. It was actually hard to get pictures of the other fish without her showing up. In fact, I had to crop her out of the picture of the horde. Iris is a very sweet and intelligent fish, and definitely my baby. I can hand feed her the long sticks we use to feed our fish. She'll come up to the surface and take them from my fingers. She's always watching and aware of what's going on around her, and I just adore this fish. |
