SailorMoon Merchandise

So far I am only listing the basic SM merchandise that all SM fan should have! (and that I own) At the bottom of each section there are links in case you are interested in browsing around or purchasing.

The DIC Movies

REVIEW:

I personally don't like the dubbed, for MANY reasons. It's ok for beginners or for those who collect, but if you can get the originals [subbed] go for it, they are DA bomb compared to the dubbed version.

Interested in the DIC movies? Try Toys-R-Us, your local Video Store, or this number: 1-800-582-7600

  • A Moon Star is born: "A Moon Star is born" ep. with the introduction of Serena (SailorMoon), and the "Talk Radio" episode.

  • Scouts Unite!: "Computer School Blues" ep. with the introduction of Amy (SailorMercury), and "An Uncharmed Life" ep. with the introduction of Raye (SailorMars).

  • Evil Eyes: "Cruise Blues" ep. and "Shutter Bugged" ep.

  • Jupiter and Venus Arrive!: "Jupiter Comes Thundering In" ep. with the introduction of Lita (SailorJupiter), and "Sailor Venus Makes the Scene" ep. with the introduction of Mina (SailorVenus).

  • Secret Identities: "A Crystal Clear Destiny" ep. where Serena and Darien reveal their true indentities to each other, and "A Reluctant Princess" ep. where Serena's second identity is revealed (she is the Moon Princess).

  • Good Queen, Bad Queen: "The Past Returns" ep. where the girls learn from Queen Serenity about their past, and "Day of Destiny" ep. where they defeat Queen Beryl. If you get the dubbed, then you don't know what you are missing, because DIC censored over half of the coolest scenes in these 2 episodes.

  • The Doom Tree Series: Featuring the first 13 episodes of SailorMoon R, with Alan and Ann as the evil aliens.

They have also released all 3 movies: SMR, SMS, and SMSS in english. They sell them at Best Buy, BlockBuster, Toys R' Us, and any other video store that carries children's movies.

REVIEW:

I have all 3 movies in japanese with subtitles on VHS, and SailorMoon S on DVD (bilingual). The DVD's are by Pioneer and can be bought at any of the stores above. For more info you can visit KIDS ANIMATION or PIONEER ANIMATION. They are 60 min. long, uncut, and recommended for ages 13 and up.

Some of us have the luck to come across the original Manga and buy it, but some people don't want to bother because it's in japanese and you have to read it backwards. So get it in English! Mixxzine is translating SailorMoon, Magick Knight Rayearth, Parasyte and Ice Blade, among others. Look for the magazine called SMILE under Mixxzine. Click on image to order.

Mixxzine Notice: Certain stories contained in Mixxzine are appropriate for older children only. Such stories contain scenes of graphic violence which may not be appropriate for younger children. Mixxzine's recommended age group is 13 and older; parental discretion is advised for younger and impressionable children.

REVIEW:

I get it...and I like it. (no, I am not crazy about it, but they are doing their best!) They call Usagi/Serena, Bunny. They have contests, games, they are entertainning. The stories are very entertaining. I highly recommend it.

But if you must get the original Manga that's great! I also own most of it and I love it! Naoko's art is really admirable! They must be read backwards and unless you understand japanese, you can simply sit there and look at the wonderful drawings...
The Manga is waaay more complete than the Anime, a lot more characters, and a lot more happens in it. It's not divided into 5 seasons like the TV show. It's more violent and a lot of different things are implied (such as sex).
