DISCWORLD-UNIQUE UNIVERSE

This is what Terry Pratchett says about the Discworld...

"The world rides through space on the back of a turtle. This is one of
the great ancient world myths, found whereever men and elephants were
gathered together..."

"There are no maps. You can't map a sense of humor..."

I read "The Colour of Magic" as a library loan so I now own the new
version put out by Harper Torch Fiction...they titled it "The Color of
Magic" and depict The Luggage as a suitcase!! It still serves to introduce
the unique universe of the Discworld.

CHARACTERS...
RINCEWIND - Scrawny, like most wizards, and clad in a dark red robe
on which a few mystic sigils were embroidered in tarnished sequins.
Around his neck was a chain that marked him as an alumnus of Unseen
University, the high school of magic. Following an unfortunate incident,
Rincewind left knowing only one spell and made his living capitalizing on
a gift for languages.

Usually, when the going gets tough, Rincewind just wants to get going!
However, there is usually a dragon or a magic sword to remind him to be
a hero.

THE LUGGAGE - It looked for all the world like a...box on legs!
Large and brass-bound and made of sapient pearwood. It came with
Twoflower, the tourist, who hired Rincewind to serve as his guide.
The Luggage is totally faithful to its owner and totally homicidal
to anyone who threatens its owner.
