2. Imagine that you could interview
an animal or plant. What do you think it would have to say about how people
treat the environment.
Many people know that the
nature is like a home for animals and plants. But they don't protect this
"home". They didn't think that one day the environment could disappear
definitively. I am sure if an animal or a plant could talk, it would have
many things to say about how people treat the environment. An animal would
say that it is in danger to disappear, because the man and the man chase
it pollutes the nature, its home. Plants are in danger to be polluted,
too.
The animals and plants help
the man, but him doesn't value this help.
Imagine how could be a world
without animals and plants. For this reason we, children of today, must
care for our world.

"Mr. Bear, what could you say
about your forest?"
"My forest is my home, but
now I must be sincere and say I don't feel at home here any more."
"Why?"
"Because people cut a lot
of trees and didn't plant new ones."
"What about your den?"
"I tried to make my den
more comfortable for me and my cubs but when we go
out for food, we find the
river very dirty and almost without fish."
"What do you think about
what people should do?"
"People should take care
of the environment and keep the nature clean and healthy."
"Thank you for the interview!"
"You are welcome!"

Last Sunday I went for a picnic
in the forest. There I met a squirrel and interviewed it.
"Where do you live?"
"I live in the forest."
"Why do you like to live
there?"
"Because forests are home
to many animals and the trees are beautiful and also bring rain."
"Do you see people in the
forest in summer?"
Yes, of course, they come
here every Sunday."
"How do people treat the
environment?"
"They pollutes it. When
they leave the forest they leave behind garbage: empty bottles of Fanta,
cans of Coke, vegetables and bones. Garbage pollutes all nature. The soil
is polluted by waste, too."
I still think of the red
squirrel which I saw last summer, and I am not happy!

"Hello, monkey! How are you?
Why are you looking at me so unhappily?"
"I am very sad, I am here
in this cage running and running round this little tree."
"Can you speak?!"
"Yes, I can. A lot of people
come here and look at me, talk to me and I have learnt to speak. But I
don't like to stay here, inside eating my bananas, playing with my tail,
climbing up and down. The cage and everybody looks at me and laughs at
me. I miss my forest, my friends, my happiness."
"How sad! I am very sorry
for you! What can I do for you?"
"Say to people to love animals
in their own places, not in cages at the zoo. I feel like a thief, like
a criminal. I don't like such a life! I want to be with my family. Can
you help me?"
"I promise I shall do all
my best!"
