Frederic Chopin
Frederic Chopin is one
of the greatest composer and pianist of the Romantic school.
He was born in Poland and
the influence of Italian opera composer Vincenzo Bellini can also be heard
in his pieces: ballades, scherzos and piano studies. Also a heroic spirit
marks his polonaises while his mazurkas reflect the rhythms and melodic
traits of Polish folk music.
An exquisite melody of great
originality and a poetic beauty characteriz his romantic and lyrical music.
Chopin influenced other composers,
especially the Hungarian pianist and composer Franz Liszt, and the French
composer Claude Debussy.
