1.Do lots of research if you want to do well.

2.Let Tank Cycle before adding all your fish.

3.Keep fish that get along.

4.Get test kits for Ammonia,nitrite,chlorine to start.

5.Be prepared to do some water changes, about 20% a week. Some go every two weeks.

6.Get the biggest tank you can afford.These fish grow very fast.

7.I made the mistake of over feeding. Fish can beg so you have to ignore this. Feed once a day while your tank is cycling.

8.Get a very good filter. I have an Emperor 400. If you look in mags you can get this filter for less than $40.00

9. Give your cichlids places to hide.
