I work for my church as one of the secretaries. Right now, I'm working in the media department, learning how to edit digital audio tapes; maybe some day I'll get to edit some video -- looking forward to that! Our church has a web site, and I am in charge of maintaining the web page, and with keeping up and responding to all the email that it generates. One of my main interests and loves is music, so in addition to all the above, I get to work closely with the music leaders of the church, as the music secretary -- keeping up with everything involved with a growing music ministry. Our church membership is around 1000-1100 and growing every day, so we all stay pretty busy! In addition to working at the church, I also play main keyboards for our praise and worship team; and am very involved in being a sponsor for our youth group (and playing keyboards for the youth praise band....) In my "spare time" (yeah, right!!) I enjoy photography, playing with my two kitties, Caesar & Cleo, reading, emailing my friends, and working on my web pages.
I have had a home at GeoCities for about two years. I started off with the Basic Editor and a page in Heartland/Ranch, and with the help of some great CL's and some other friends, I began to learn about HTML. After lots of surfing, I began to develop more of an idea of what I wanted in a web page, and began to just have lots of fun! Then, when Petsburgh opened up, I thought it would be great fun to have a page "created" by my kitties, Caesar & Cleo. So in September of '98, they moved into their Petsburgh home and haven't looked back since!
I have really enjoyed working and becoming a CL, because I know how helpful and patient the CL's were when I first started working on my page, and I decided I wanted to pass along the favor and try to help others. I went through training and graduated on March 13, 1999. Even though I haven't been here that long at all, I am enjoying it very much; all the other CL's are really friendly, helpful and wonderful people. I am happy to be a CL and work around such talented folks! I am also on the Welcoming Committee, and am enjoying meeting the new people just joining GeoCities.... it's great to have the satisfaction of answering someone's question and knowing that you've maybe started them off on a successful path of web page creating.
