Colsidex Weimaraners had very meager beginnings.  In 1964 a big gray dog followed Judy’s brother home from school and she fell in love with him.  She had no idea what kind of dog he was, called the Dog Officer who immediately said, "That’s George Bailey’s Weimaraner, he runs all over town, I’ll be over to pick him up and take him home."  Twenty minutes after he was picked up he was back on the front porch.  He refused to stay home and made the decision to live with people who appreciated him.  After two months of his owner locking him up and he breaking out and coming to Judy’s house Ziegfried became Judys first Weimaraner.  Ziegfried was intelligent but unruly.  He had done exactly what he pleased his entire life and so he was enrolled in an obedience class.

While attending dog shows and showing in obedience, Judy started watching Weimaraners in breed competition.  She realized that the majority of dogs she liked were sired by Ch Shadowmar Barthuas Dorilio.  She met "Dors" owner, Dorothy Remensnyder who was a wealth of knowledge.  She discussed pedigrees, anatomy, movement and shared her years of knowlege with Judy.  Dorothy had a beautiful Dorilio daughter, Shadowmar Winema von Elken, who she had acquired after a year of age.  She had been brought up in a kennel and did not have a lot of self confidence.  Dorothy gave Judy the bitch, with the understanding that she would try to finish her.  Although she was wonderful at home, great with children and loved to hunt, she did not like to show.  She was bred her to her half-brother, sired by Dorilio, Ch Dougs Dauntless von Dor.  and this produced Ch Colsidex Dauntless Applause (Ch Dougs Dauntless von Dor X Shadowmar Winema von Elken), a multiple Specialty winner, BROM Top Producer and one of the first bitches elected to the Weimaraner Club of America Hall of Fame.  "Pixie" was the dam of 12 champions, 3 Futurity winners, 6 BROM Top Producers and the breed’s all time top producing sire and multiple Best In Show winner, Ch Colsidex Standing Ovation.  Pixie is the #8 All Time Top Producing BROM dam.

Ch Colsidex Standing Ovation (Ch Seneca’s Medicine Man X Ch Colsidex Dauntless Applause) was the product of an outcross of two inbred dogs.  His dam, Applause, was the result of a half brother, half sister breeding on Ch Shadowmar Barthaus Dorilio.  His sire, Ch Seneca’s Medicine Man was the result of a half brother, half sister breeding on Ch Durmar’s Karl.  Ovation was the best of both his sire and dam.  He had the balance and beautiful breed type of his dam, and the showmanship and tail set of his sire.  He won 5 Best In Shows (3 US & 2 Canada), was #1 Weimaraner in the U.S. and Canada for and twice won the WCA National Specialty from the Veterans class.  "Joga" was a prepotent producer , the sire of 3 Best In Show winners, 28 Futurity winners, numerous Group winners and an unprecedented 148 champions.  He is the #1 All Time Top Producing BROM sire.  Both Joga and Pixie had the wonderful easy going, easy to live with temperaments that Judy bred for when she used Ch Shadowmar Barthaus Dorilio as the foundation of her breeding program.  Joga was the first dog elected to the Weimarnaer Club of America’s Hall of Fame.

Ch Colsidex The Farms Act One (Ch Colsidex Standing Ovation X Ch Colsidex Dauntless Apllause), the result of breeding Ovation back to his dam.  This breeding produced 5 champions & 2 Futurity winners. "Cinny" was a multiple Specialty and Group winner as well as a Best In Futurity winner.  She was on the Top Ten for 2 years.  Although bred only once, with only two puppies resulting, both finished their championships and her son, Ch The Farms  Country Aire, was a BROM Top Producer.
Ch Colsidex Nani Reprint, JH (Ch Colsidex Standing Ovation X Ch Nani’s Cobbie Cuddler) "Jack" out of Ovation’s last litter, was Best Dog in Maturity,  a multiple Specialty and Group winner and on the Top Ten for 2 years.  He was the sire of 53 champions,  12 Futurity and Maturity winners and a multiple Best In Show winner here in the U.S.  He is the #8 All Time Top Producing BROM sire. In Australia, "Jack’s" frozen semen was used on Aust Ch Grauhund It N Abit.  This produced 5 champions, 4 multiple Best In Show winners and Australia’s #1 Weimaraner, Ch Grauhund Nite Moves who was Best in Show at the Sydney Royal over an entry of 5000.

Ch Bryrwood The Farms Hotstreak (Ch Colsidex Nani Reprint X Ch The Farms Ride Sally Ride) co-owned with Joyce Kealoha.  "Marie" was the result of half brother, half sister breeding on Ovation.  She was a multiple Specialty winner, multiple Group winner and was on the Top Ten for 2 years.

The latest member of Colsidex is Ch Aria’s Allegra of Colsidex (Ch Colsidex Nani Follow A Dream X Ch Top Hat’s Spitfire).  "Fergie" was a stud fee puppy sired by a Joga frozen semen son.  She finished her championship with three 5 point Specialty wins, including the WCA National Specialty.  She is a multiple Best In Show winner (27 Best In Shows) Specialty  and Group winner and was Best Bitch in the Eastern Futurity. She was the #1 Weimaraner in 1996 & in the Top Ten Sporting Dogs and Top Ten All Breed Dogs. In 1997 she came out of retirement to win the WCA National Specialty.  Her litter of 7 puppies was born 7 weeks later.  Although Judy does not breed often , usually one or two litters a year, she feels that temperament and type are of the utmost importance and this is what she strives for in her breeding program.
