Rocket and Luna |

Luna likes wood. Any kind of wild wood, not my furniture, in that I am fortunate. But outdoors, the forest is her domain and if a tree limb isn't attached it will invariably end up in our front yard. Actually, I have found tree roots with small trees attached in the front yard. Whenever we go for our walks she must grab the nearest log, stick, or tree limb to carry it with her. On Saturday I had my camera ready as she tried to bring another find back home. Eventually, it got the better of her and remains on the other side of the pond.
Tomorrow Luna and I will be driving to Massachusetts to visit my mom and my siblings. This time I am leaving Rocket here, at Yogi's house. I feel guilty about that. I know he will be very happy there for the 2 or so weeks we'll be gone, but I feel as though I'm betraying him in that Luna is coming with me. But while Rocket doesn't mind the drive, he gets bored there. Since there is no fenced yard the dogs have to be chained. He also refuses to walk past the neighbor's driveway when I attempt our daily walk. Essentially, we have no daily walks there which must make him even more bored. I do not know whether he finds asphalt sidewalks painful or he is just protesting his confinement. Normally, I'd suspect it's having to be on the leash but he walks on a leash just fine here. Of course, he may know that he won't be let off the leash till we return to my mom's whereas at home he gets let loose when we reach the lake, or a neighbor's house, etc.
I will miss him, Luna will miss him, but I suspect he'll enjoy himself more having the run of Yogi's backyard and being with the man who loves to over-feed him. I just hope he doesn't gain too much of his weight back!
