Need I say more?

Okay, I will.

My brother, neighbor and his daughter and I went to the feed store today to pick up our feathered friends. They got 41 chicks, 2 ducks and 2 geese. I only got 6 ducks; 2 Rouen (the brown ones), 2 Pekins (the ones in the middle) and 2 Indian Runners, the 2 at the bottom of the photo.

I also bought 2 ham bones for my pups to keep them entertained. Rocket is thus far ignoring the ducklings and Luna is curious but also a bit afraid of them. (The ham bones were not so lucky, Luna took possession of both and destroyed one, Rocket couldn't be bothered.) We (my brother, mom and I) spent the afternoon watching the ducklings, changing their water, and changing the layout of the box by adding a platform to get them closer to the lights (and adding a second light).

The ducklings spend a lot of time eating, messing up their water dish and soaking everything around it, and sleeping under the lights. They're adorable. And they're supposed to be adorable for another 3 weeks. By then I'll probably need a bigger box.
