Back From Buffalo

I know I never mentioned I was going. But I had to bring my mom and brother there to meet my sister and her boyfriend so they could drive them back to MA and I wouldn't have to go the whole distance. It worked out very well even with it being a major holiday weekend here in the US.

The 3 of us left yesterday morning (Saturday) which helped us miss the mad Friday after work dash of everyone else leaving for a 3 day weekend. When we left MI and got into Ontario, Canada the rain started and kept up till we were practically at Niagra Falls. We hadn't been there in decades with my mom, I believe I was about 5 years old at the time.

After parking we got mom to the railings through the Table Rock House (gift store/restaurant/huge line to go stand in the mist on the actual rock/etc building) And when we got to the railings the clouds began breaking up, the sun came out to our west (it was about 5 pm) and a beautiful rainbow appeared over the Horseshoe Falls. I took many photos with my digital camera.

We probably stayed there about 45 minutes to an hour, (I bought 5 t-shirts) then we drove over the Rainbow Bridge into the US and headed down to our motel just north of Buffalo. My sister and her BF (and dog Shadow, I had left Rocket and Luna at "Uncle Butch's" back in MI) arrived about 45 minutes later and we transferred/rearranged the stuff in the cars and then had a nice time together at dinner and then at the motel just gabbing and watching TV and sorting out who got what t-shirt.

We had breakfast again today and then we went our separate ways at 11 am. They got home at 6 pm and I got in at 6:30. Driving weather was much nicer today.

It is good to be home. Even if I had to clean out the duck box when I got here!
