for the moment. At least she didn't get escape the first time I put her outside after I fixed the hole. And the 3 or 4 times she's been outside since, I've found her still in the yard!
So how did I do it? DH found me a few fence staples and I took out his hatchet to use as a hammer (oddly, all 4 of our hammers, including both of mine, were at his pole barn, a good 17 miles away!) and I secured the fence in front of the house that she jumped over, and pulled the fence in back of the house down as far as I could and nailed it to the trees. Then I found some dead cedar logs (easily found in a cedar swamp) and pushed them through the fence to weigh it down as well as across the opening to block it.
When I brought the pups home and Luna saw her exit blocked she grabbed a branch and tugged till she broke it off, grabbed another branch and pulled but since that log was outside the fence she only pulled it tighter. She pushed, she tried to crawl under the logs, she walked up and down both sides of the fence looking for other openings. See how she grabbed the wire in a couple of places and tugged. Nothing. She is a thwarted puppy, until a tree falls and crushes the fence or the ground thaws and she discovers tunneling!
