I've been planning on buying one for 6 months but the shoulder surgery and then the sinus surgery got in the way. Now that that is all done and my shoulder is functioning in a more or less normal way I finally made a decision, picked the brand, picked the color (lime green) and spent the money. It wasn't cheap, and I had a gift certificate as a Christmas present so at least shipping was "free".

I bought a Necky Manitou Sport. That's a recreational kayak for those who aren't familiar with them. I looked at a lot of kayaks on line and in person though there weren't a lot to actually see in person in my neck of the woods. I never got to try this one as no one nearby has any. I had tried a couple of kayaks made by Perception and they were okay. I also got to try out a Kiwi Lobo but for me it was too sluggish. This one is a nice in between size in relation to the ones I did try out and it is supposed to have a very nice adjustable back rest that could be good for a person with back troubles like me.

So in 2-4 weeks it's going to get here and then I just have to buy a paddle (I already own a PFD which I DO use) and hope the lake ad rivers thaw before I come back from my vacation to visit my family in April. This could be a fun spring, summer and fall!
