Annual Spring Vet Visit

Expensive trip to the vet today and we didn't even see the doctor, just a tech. Heartworm tests. Luna quivered a bit when the needle went in but took it like a champ. Poor Rocket; the needle went in - no blood, she tried again - no blood, she kept moving it around, little jabs in and out. Then she switched to the other leg, got it on the first try, but the poor guy was miserable. The doctor never had this kind of trouble.

I was also informed that they want the dogs to take the heartworm meds year round. (Last year it was only for 8 months.) And since Rocket is still 4 pounds over 100, I get to buy an extra pill each month for him to be totally protected. So todays bill was $177!! In 6 months I get to spend another $100 or so since I only bought a 6 month supply.

I guess the good news today is they don't have heartworm and Rocket lost 7 pounds and Luna lost 4 since my "Superbowl Sunday Biscuit Blow Up". I'll tell my neighbor about it tomorrow and warn him again about over feeding my pups since I'm planning on leaving Rocket with him for 2 weeks while Luna and I visit my mom in Massachusetts. Can't have Rocket getting fattened up while I'm gone, it's bad for him and costs me money!
