Yorkie Express State to State
I am the Chairperson/Coordinator for the Y.E.S.S. transportation system.
Y.E.S.S. was created so that we may place the rescued Yorkies, wherever they may be, across the nation. So far...1000 Rescue Yorkies have been transported, some very long distances, to either their new homes and/or to a new foster home, where they will be neutered and treated until their health improves and they are evaluated. This involved 700 wonderful volunteers, who joined the Y.E.S.S. team for the LOVE of the Yorkie breed.
This is pretty good since we only started on July 4th, 1999
Our membership is currently 700, but there is certainly room for more volunteers, especially if you want to make a difference in the life of these little sweethearts, in most cases from shelters and/or puppy mills, unwanted and virtually, THROWN AWAY!This is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization depending upon you contributions, Yorkshire Terrier National Rescue, Inc. in behalf of the Yorkshire Terrier Rescues, to transport them to either their "foster homes" or to their adoptive homes and/or to medical treatment
This process has to be completed often very quickly, thus, we need responsible person available who we know will strive to keep their focus on the safety, comfort and welfare of the Yorkie rescues being transported.
In realizing that not every person on this team can be available, sometimes at a moments notice, all of the time, I do want you to know that I appreciate your volunteering for this gratifying, but time consuming endeavor.Through our unified team work and common desire to help these less fortunate Yorkies, we will be able to provide them with additional years of loving, caring homes, no matter what the distance.
I look forward to working together with all of you dedicated Y.E.S.S. team members in the future.
After you have joined the team, I will send you a notebook which includes an introductory letter, which you will need to have copies made, then distribute to your shelter, Vets and any other "Doggy" place of business, for rescuing Yorkies.... this is kind of a combination effort as we want you to notify your shelters of your availability for rescuing and also so you are part of the team that transports these rescues to needed medical treatments and to their NEW OWNERS.
