Why have a cat?

Which sex to choose?
The girl is generally more flexible and affectionate that the boy. He will fight and will urinate to delimit his territory. If you spay/neuter him, the boy will rather make you the effect of a big teddy bear!

Kitten or adult cat?

Cats with short or longhair?
With a shorthair cat, it is not necessary to brush him each day. He is generally more active that the longhair cat and will be adapted more to the people carrying out an active life. The longhair cat needs a daily brushing in order to prevent him from balls of hairs. They are often more majestic with their large fur. There is also cats with hairs semi-length which require less maintenance.

Cat with or without pedigree?
If you to wish to breed your cat, choose a cat with pedigree. They show the charateristics of their race. The cats without pedigree,  are rather of the kind " ordinary cat ". They are less expensive.

Where can you buy your cat?
For a cat with pedigree, you will have to go in a specialized chattery. For a simple cat of company, the best to do is going in an association or a shelter to adopt a cat. You can also buy him in a pet store.

Spay/Neuter?
It is now imperative to have his cat spay or neuter due to the problem of " overpopulation of cats " . In addition to preventing the births, it attenuates the sexual behavior of the males.
