- Describe the Iditarod Background and History.

c. Why does the race alternate between a northern and a southern route every other year?
- Use the Alyeska Sled Dog Products Website to decide what kind of sled you would use. Draw a picture of the sled of your choice.

b. What are the six breeds of dogs most commonly used in the Iditarod?
- The Iditarod Race has lots of rules. Go to Dog Owners Guide: The Iditarod to learn about some of these rules.
