Back at good old Camp Placid Pines, the counselors are closing everything down for the winter. Pretty soon after a hitchhiker arrives to help out, the horny teens start dying. Hilarity ensues.

Since we had expected something horrible, I must say we were pleasantly surprised by this film. While not exactly an Oscar contender, Bloody Murder 2 was much, much better than it's predecessor, mainly because of the change in director. The plot is the same old unoriginal horror jelly, but it's directed so well (relatively) that you enjoy it for the B-movie that it is, not as a complete rip-off of that other campground murderer franchise. In fact, the killer from Bloody Murder 2 even ditches the hockey mask he wears on the movie cover...but instead sports the exact same costume as the killer from Bleed, plus some overalls. Whatever.

The simple fact is, Bloody Murder 2 is yet another slasher flick, this time with a bit of post-Scream self-reference. If you've seen one of these movies, you've seen them all. Then why, you ask, do we continue to rent these low budget kill-fests? The answer is ridicule value. For instance, where else would you find a girl seriously saying, "I'm just tired of being treated like I've got six heads!" There's also a great kill, which teaches us that big rock + guy with no legs = head explodee. Wonderful.

Bloody Murder 2 is good for mindless killing and some chuckles. And belly buttons, lots of belly buttons. If you're looking for something scary, though...look elsewhere.

It's always a shame when they cast a real life "dirty girl" as the virginal lead in a low budget slasher film and don't alow her to do what she does naturally. Katy Woodruff does a fine job of reminding us why some movies can only be seen when acompined by a 12 pack. Although BM2 was better than the first, one must ask themselves why the hell they would bother watching the first. This one is going no where fast and the cast isn't doing any better.
