When Matthew comes to a little town to open a car dealership, he finds a lot more than he bargained for...unless of course he was bargaining for ZOMBIES! He finds plenty of those.

George Romero, how I weep for thee. Appearing to be based in the same world as Romero's Living Dead movies, Children of the Living Dead doesn't even come close to resembling its "predecessors." This film stinks of rotting flesh and no budget. Nevertheless, Children contains gunfire o-plenty -- and no, zombies aren't impressed you can cross your arms and shoot with two handguns -- and a needless car explosion. Plus there's the script, which contains some dumb plot elements and completely misses the ominous zombies-are-everywhere feel of the Romero flicks.

Having gotten through the shortcomings of this movie, I must say that I loved watching it. Children of the Living Dead is unintentionally (?) hilarious, from clips falling out of guns when they are fired to bad over-dubbing leading the viewer to believe that all car salesmen are cyborgs. Plus, apparently all you have to do is scream directly at a zombie and he will also scream and run away. And don't even get me started on the birthmark...

I don't want to spoil any more of the ridicule opportunities, so I recommend Children of the Living Dead if you're in the mood for a true B-movie. The acting's alright for what it is, the script and direction are...B-movie quality. But sit down with some friends and a sense of humor and enjoy the thick jelly of camp that is this film.
