Yeehaw! I do reckon this here movie...ahem...I mean, From Dusk Till Dawn 3: The Hangman's Daughter is a nice little western/action/horror flick. It's got just about everything it's crappy predecessor lacked, mainly talent. The writing and direction are great, as is the acting. Parks, who plays Ambrose Bierce, is the coolest gun-toting wise-cracking alcoholic since Avril Lavigne (or so I've heard). Danny Trejo is back again, still a badass. One of the coolest casting choices, though, has to be Orlando Jones. Seeing the 7-Up guy run around with fangs is too good to pass up. But wait, there's more. One of the banditos has a really, really cool sombrero. One could eat all kinds of stuff out of it. There's a mid-massacre tango scene. We even get to see the Bible-toting Christian guy, once he's gotten laid and loses his glasses, wail on a bunch of hooligans in a bar fight. If all that still isn't enough for you, From Dusk Till Dawn 3 has plenty of the ultraviolence with new and interesting deaths. We've all scene the stake to the heart, but what about a stake through the face? Head explodies, guts on the floor, and vampire-kebabs...what more could you ask for? Ok, so maybe as Johnny and Esmeralda are approaching the bar one can see city lights in the background, and maybe the bats look horribly fake, but who cares? The rest of this movie more than makes up for the little things. From Dusk Till Dawn 3 balances good writing with action and gore, something which few horror movies aside from the first From Dusk Till Dawn have done in a long time. Damn, This here movie's so good I could just spit. |
