Just when you thought it was safe to take a crap, here comes the Monsturd. The result of an industrial accident, Mr. Shitmonster takes to the toilets of a small town, killing innocent folk as they drop their children off at the pool (if you know what I mean). The sheriff and his crew must go into the sewers to shoot the shit. I'm having a lot of trouble reviewing this...thing, mainly because I have such mixed feelings about it. It was complete and utter crap, but at the same time it had its virtues. Maybe a straight list of good and bad things will help explain what I mean: Good: It's about militant shit! Bad: The acting, though expected, is pretty bad...and whoever plays "Timmy" compells me to get my eye-gouging spoon out Good: A chemical spill turns a woman's face into crap Bad: Although a spoof, it's often not funny. Many way-too-long jokes just come off as stupid. Good: There is a great vomitting sequence, in which two deputies puke about four times each. You can't miss with vomit Good: For the non-existent budget, the shit monster looks pretty good (it's better than trash bags and duct tape) Hmm...so maybe Monsturd isn't as bad as I initially thought. It's Super Troopers meets The X-Files with the budget and talent of neither. It does, however, offer enough little chuckles to not be a total waste of time.
