As nightfall does not come at once, neither does oppression. In both instances, there's a twilight where everything remains seemingly unchanged, and it is in such twilight that we must be aware of change in the air, however slight, lest we become unwitting victims of the darkness. - - Supreme Court Justice William O. Douglas - -

Ok, i've had the link for this page "Under Construction" for some time now, figure while i am doing nothing i might as well throw a few links up here to get it going. Hopefully this will be reorganized into something a little nicer in the fairly near future.

The American Civil Liberties Union has a good habit of fighting for fairness for the American people. I'm sure you may not agree with everything they say, but I promise you that they have helped defend at least one of your viewpoints. Check out their site, they have a nice feature that allows you to check on our politicians in Congress and see how they voted on important civil liberty laws (searchable by state or nationwide).

Ah yes, the good ol' Libertarian Party. I haven't yet finished reading all their platform's viewpoints on the important national issues (national defense, social security, drug war (current status: a failure), and campaign contributions. But what i have read so far i like and honestly believe this country would be better off with these kind of people in charge. At least they aren't puppets of the huge corporations like the current plethora of politicians on Capitol Hill (and on the state/local level). But i am not psychic and that could change if they ever did get alot of Libertarians in charge. I doubt the Democrats and Republicans started as paid puppets. Anyway, give them a look because the national media doesn't give them much coverage and most people tend to dismiss them because they aren't one of the two political superpowers.
